It was a year ago from today that 26 people died at Sandy Hook Elementary (not including the perpetrator). On December 14, 2012, parents started their day normally. Drop their kids off at school and pick them up later in the afternoon, but that day was different. Some parents did not know that their child would not come home alive. Some parents probably already had their child’s Christmas gift under the tree waiting for them to open on Christmas day. This day has given many students, parents, and staff paranoia of going to school. May this day be a reminder to all that life is too short and always make the best of it. Rest in Peace; Rachel D’Avino (teacher’s aide), Dawn Hochsprung (principal), Anne Marie Murphy (teacher’s aide), Lauren Rousseau (teacher), Mary Sherlach (school psychologist), Victoria Leigh Soto (teacher), *the following names are first grade students* Charlotte Bacon, Daniel Barden, Olivia Engel, Josephine Gay, Dylan Hockley, Madeleine Hsu, Catherine Hubbard, Chase Kowalski, Jesse Lewis, Ana Marquez-greene, James Mattioli, Grace McDonnell, Emilie Parker, Jack Pinto, Noah Pozner, Caroline Previdi, Jessica Rekos, Avielle Richman, Benjamin Wheeler, and Allison Wyatt. Don’t take the ones you love for granted, let them know how much you love and care for them, you never know what you have until it’s gone.
